What's in a name?

Back

She is named after the moon of Uranus who's "surface is unlike anything in the solar system with features that are jumbled together in a haphazard fashion. Scientists believe that Miranda may have been shattered as many as five times during its evolution. After each shattering the moon would have reassembled from the remains of its former self with portions of the core exposed and portions of the surface buried".  "Fortunately, Miranda turned out to be the most remarkable of all the satellites"  .Miranda, A Moon of Uranus

That about sums her up!  Our girl has been through a lot without a whole lot of TLC in recent years.  She came with a new set of sails and the original bronze motor mount which were worth what I paid for her.  The core damage was extensive and the cabin exhibited the sag which is so common in Typhoons of this era.
